RIA, engineered with Generative AI methodologies, offers enhanced efficiency and precision in production tasks. The project, categorized under Future Workforce and Operational Excellence, was initiated to address the increasing market demand (30%) for APOS EDC machines and to align with BCA's strategy of digital transformation.
The development of RIA involved internal teams from the Operational and System Support Department, EDC Services unit, and Security Enterprises, along with external stakeholders for raw material procurement. The project's overall cost was kept under $1M, with a rapid time-to-market of six months from conception to implementation. Challenges encountered during the project included connectivity issues with the principal’s generator device and limitations in robot-arm interaction with APOS screens. Mitigation strategies, such as cable replacement, image recognition, and auto-clicker devices, were implemented to overcome these challenges. Risks, including miss clicks, blackout, downtime, and temperature rise, were effectively mitigated through preventive maintenance and backup systems.
The implementation of RIA yielded significant results across various aspects. Quality control was enhanced through image recognition, leading to a reduction in reject rates. Labor costs were decreased by 79%, and daily productivity increased by 289% per person. Moreover, the implementation of RIA reduced security risks associated with human intervention and optimized workspace utilization by 50%.
In conclusion, the optimization of APOS BCA machine production processes through the deployment of RIA demonstrates BCA's commitment to technological advancement and operational excellence, positioning it at the forefront of innovation in the banking industry.
