Join us and experience the future of shopping today! Shopping 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, is an irresistible trend you can’t and don’t want to stop. Did you forget to buy something? Do the regular opening hours not suit you? In the Czech Republic, modern shopping has no limits anymore.
ČSOB has been actively involved in the expansion of the automated store network in the Czech Republic for over a year. Together with our partners such as Etnetera Flow, COOP and PVA Systems, we have developed an efficient, affordable, and innovative solution. Market 24/7 is ideal for scaling in the Czech Republic as well as in other countries where there is available similar identification process to Bank ID. There is no digtal identification system in the Czech Republic created by the government. Multiple banks agreed to create Bank ID as a reliable digital identificaticator with the support of the government. Now you can also use Bank ID as a digital identification in the government systems.
The Market 24/7 feature in the DoKapsy od ČSOB app acts as your key to the automated store: ● Select Market 24/7 widget in the app and choose the store you want to shop at. ● Use your Bank Identity (Bank ID) to authenticate yourself. ČSOB clients can access the Market 24/7 service more easily via their secured ČSOB ID (internal identification tool) instead of the general Bank ID. ● Generate a QR code in the app to enter the automated store. Then, take your cart, and begin shopping. ● When you are done, scan your QR code with the scanner at the checkout, scan the goods, confirm your purchase and pay with your credit card or mobile phone. ● To leave the shop, scan the QR code from the app at the exit.
Our project aims to make the implementation of automated stores in the Czech Republic regions faster. It is in small towns and villages that these systems can ensure the preservation of smaller shops and improve business services, which were deteriorating in past years. Self-service sales save labour costs, and the customers can shop at any time thanks to the unlimited opening hours, which is much more convenient for them.
Customers respond positively to this innovation in shopping availability, which we can demonstrate by the following figures: ● approx. 30% of all purchases are made between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. ● On weekends, we see a 70% increase in generated QR codes compared to standard business days ● Similarly, we see a 232% increase in generated QR codes on public holidays when standard shops are closed for the entire day
We are currently scaling the project to work with new partners. Five grocery store networks and one pet food brand have adopted the automated store concept, totalling 63 shops in the Czech Republic as of July 2024. Stores involved in the project often operate in a hybrid mode. During the day, the shops are staffed while on the weekends and at night, customers serve themselves. This model is proving to be the most efficient, with automatic operation accounting for around 10% of the turnover.
