Customers’ EFT to Account, EFT to IBAN, and Money Transfer to Account instructions were being delivered to the Customer Instruction system via email. With the Money Transfer Instructions Project, documents in incoming emails are now being analyzed by AI first. After classifying the transaction type, AI processes the information in the document. Information is visually scanned and transferred into the customer instruction system by AI. Previously, the process was completed manually and then awaited approval; now, AI performs the processing function and forwards it to a real person for approval. The approver completes the final checks and advances the process.
The goal of the Money Transfer Instructions Project is to automate the system entries of written money transfer instructions conveyed as free text by customers in banking documents, improving efficiency and process improvement. The goal is to bring the automation rate, which is currently 82%, to 95%. Additionally, the rate of instructions sent to OCR from the Central Instruction System is 88%. By teaching AI the document types and the mandatory fields within specific document types, classification and extraction are performed automatically for each transaction type. It is possible to teach relevant document types to AI without writing code. The aim is to achieve efficiency in processing the data in the instructions according to the AI-AI success rate.
Efficiency is a major priority across the globe, and AI is essential for increasing internal bank efficiency. As Türkiye Finans, we effectively use AI to meet customer needs quickly, securely, and conveniently at the moment they arise. With our motto "In Pursuit of Excellence," we are the only bank in our sector using AI for visual reading.
The Money Transfer Instructions Project involved our Service Design and Process Management, Branch Operations, and Information Systems departments.
