Innovation presentation

The "Shaping the Future – Bodywork School" represents an innovative approach to addressing the shortage of qualified professionals in partner mechanical workshops, generating a positive social and economic impact. Supported by a nonprofit organization and mechanical workshops in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, the project provides free training in bodywork, prioritizing diversity and inclusion.

The automotive sector faces a growing challenge: the lack of skilled professionals to carry out essential repairs that ensure the quality and efficiency of services provided by insurers and workshops. This gap directly impacts operational costs and customer experience, resulting in increased repair times and rising costs.

Additionally, the lack of interest from new generations in the bodywork profession and the closure of technical courses in the area exacerbate the shortage of new professionals. The project aims to reverse this situation by training workers and ensuring the continuity of the sector.

Main Objectives:

Qualify skilled labor for the automotive sector, focusing on bodywork.

Reduce operational costs for insurers by prioritizing the repairability of parts instead of their replacement.

Improve customer experience by decreasing vehicle repair times.

Include individuals in social vulnerability in the job market, especially women and marginalized groups.

Minimize environmental impacts by reducing the disposal of scrapped parts, in line with sustainability strategies.

The course, with a workload of 240 hours, combines theoretical and practical classes in certified mechanical workshops, utilizing advanced equipment and methodologies to ensure quality technical learning. The first class, which started in August 2024, trained 24 students, with internships scheduled for November and an expectation of hiring in the workshops starting in January 2025.

The training is free, with financial assistance for students who perform well and a commitment from participating workshops to offer internship positions and job opportunities. The "Shaping the Future – Bodywork School" is already showing significant results:

A 35% reduction in parts replacement in participating workshops, resulting in annual savings of R$ 700,000 in claims costs.

A decrease of 60 tons of annual waste, contributing to the sustainability of the sector.

Increased customer satisfaction (NPS) due to higher quality and faster services provided.

Social inclusion, with 30% of spots occupied by women, promoting greater diversity in the automotive industry.

Sector engagement, with 14 partner workshops actively involved in the initiative.

The initial success of the project will allow its expansion to other Brazilian states, such as São Paulo, Paraná, and Rio Grande do Sul, as well as the inclusion of new courses, such as automotive painting.

Project Monitoring:

Evaluation of students' performance and attendance during the course.

Monitoring the employability rate after graduation.

Measurement of savings generated by increased repairability of parts.

Continuous monitoring of scrap reduction and environmental impact.

The "Shaping the Future – Bodywork School" is a remarkable example of disruptive innovation and social responsibility in the insurance sector. By operating integratively across the entire value chain – clients, workshops, insurers, and society – the initiative transforms challenges into opportunities, offering professional training, promoting social inclusion, and boosting operational efficiency in the automotive market.

With social, environmental, and economic impacts, the project not only strengthens the sector but also leaves a positive legacy, preparing the future of the insurance and automotive markets in a sustainable and inclusive manner.

The project stands out for addressing the shortage of qualified labor in bodywork workshops, promoting a positive social and economic impact. Given the growing demand for skilled professionals for repairs, the initiative responds to a critical challenge that directly affects the quality and efficiency of services provided.
