A technological breakthrough was achieved with the rapid spread of ChatGPT, which reached one million users in just five days. This development marked the beginning of a new era of artificial intelligence that has fundamentally changed the way people interact with technology worldwide. At ERGO, we saw the potential of this innovation and decided to offer our employees access to a customized AI solution. To meet the highest security and data protection requirements, we decided against external solutions and instead developed an application of our own: ERGO GPT. This is fully integrated into our cloud governance-compliant security infrastructure and runs within our own Azure environment.
Our goal was to create a secure, AI-powered platform for all employees that optimizes the way they work, strengthens innovation and promotes the development of future skills. ERGO GPT relieves the burden of routine tasks, improves the customer experience and increases the digital competence of our workforce:
1.) Increased efficiency and process optimization: by using ERGO GPT, we were able to reduce processing times in various departments. This led to a significant increase in productivity and an optimization of internal processes.
2.) Improvement in employee satisfaction: the comprehensive training measures and continuous support through workshops and weekly lounges have increased the acceptance and satisfaction of our employees.
3.) Increase in customer satisfaction: improved efficiency and faster processing of customer inquiries contribute to an increase in customer satisfaction.
4.) Competitive differentiation and image enhancement: The secure data protection-compliant ERGO GPT AI solution has clearly differentiated our company from competitors and strengthened our image as a digitally leading, innovative and responsible market leader.
5.) Sustainability and future proofing: the platform promotes the continuous training of our employees and supports the development of future skills, which contributes to a more sustainable and future-proof corporate culture in the long term.
In spring 2024, we were one of the first insurers to roll out our own “GPT” for all 30k employees. Half a year later we have almost 50 percent of the internal workforce using ERGO GPT regularly. They have created almost 1 million prompts so far.
