“mOkazje zakupy” by mBank is a groundbreaking e-commerce marketplace embedded directly within the mobile banking app, offering a seamless and fully integrated shopping experience. The concept is built around deep personalization, leveraging customers’ banking data to tailor product recommendations and offers that are highly relevant and timely.
The main objective was to create the easiest and most intuitive shopping journey available in any eCommerce or banking app. Users can browse and purchase from millions of products offered by hundreds of trusted suppliers—without ever leaving the app. The entire process, from product discovery to payment and financing, is frictionless and fully embedded within the banking ecosystem.
What sets “mOkazje zakupy” apart from the competition is its unprecedented integration of banking and commerce. Core banking services such as instant payments and Buy Now Pay Later financing are embedded directly in the shopping flow, with plans to introduce installment financing and a native loyalty program next. This creates a unique value proposition that combines convenience, personalization, security and financial flexibility.
Importantly, “mOkazje zakupy” is one of the first and only solutions of its kind in Europe —and among the few globally—to deliver a truly unified bank-commerce experience at scale. This is especially significant, since mBank customers account for nearly one-fourth of the Polands's total eCommerce transaction value, making the bank uniquely positioned to lead this transformation.
The inspiration came from observing the growing convergence of banking and lifestyle services, and the desire to make mBank not just a place to manage money, but a platform that supports everyday needs.
The project involved close collaboration between digital banking, data science, product development, and partner management teams. Early results show exceptionally strong feedback from users—exceeding even the already high satisfaction levels typically associated with mBank’s digital services. This confirms the potential of this innovative approach to redefine the role of a banking app in customers’ lives.
