Pixpay launches a children’s ecosystem in France

Very recently, the French fintech Pixpay, which offers a payment card for children from the age of 10, has gone a step further by offering its young customers (and their parents) ‘Bons Plans’, attractive and exclusive offers from carefully selected partners.

There are many banks and fintechs that have offerings for children. Most offer a bank account with savings and debit card. Some banking players also have various initiatives offering financial education for children that is often neglected in school curricula. But their offer stops there. However, some have had the idea to venture beyond financial services. This is the case for example with mBank or La Banque Postale that offer homework help. Our study Generation next: Financial institutions’ offerings for kids has shown that that these isolated initiatives suggest the possibility of an ecosystem built around the child and more generally the family.

Very recently, the French fintech Pixpay, which offers a payment card for children from the age of 10, has gone a step further by offering its young customers (and their parents) ‘Bons Plans’, attractive and exclusive offers from carefully selected partners. In other words, the beginnings of a real ecosystem built around the child. "In addition to our service, we have pre-selected innovative or really useful services for families, to help parents respond to concrete everyday problems," said Caroline Ménager, co-founder of Pixpay, in the press release announcing the launch of Bons Plans.
