Grab, the leading superapp in Southeast Asia, has inaugurated its first physical merchant centre in Singapore, situated at Grab’s one-north headquarters. A pioneering initiative, this centre is designed to provide targeted support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) navigating the digital landscape.
The Grab Merchant Centre, a unique first-of-its-kind in Singapore and Southeast Asia, aims to be a strategic hub offering a suite of services to propel SMBs towards digital success. At the opening ceremony, Mr. Lee Chuan Teck, CEO of Enterprise Singapore, was the guest of honor.
Wee Tang Yee, Country Head of Grab Singapore, emphasized the centre's evolution from a merchant registration counter in 2020 to a comprehensive resource hub for SMBs. The services include:
• "Ready, Set, Grab" kit: A comprehensive starter kit for new Grab merchants, facilitating store visibility and a robust online presence.
• 1:1 business reviews: Data-driven consultation for existing merchants, providing insights into sales histories and industry trends.
• Merchant concierge service: A subscription-based hotline offering on-demand operational support for online stores.
• Networking and learning opportunities: Regular events for SMEs to network, upskill, and contribute to Grab’s product development.
The Grab Merchant Centre also serves as a space for SMEs to stay updated on the latest digital tools and practices. Yee highlighted the importance of businesses confidently navigating the digital landscape, leveraging Grab’s suite of self-serve digital tools, covering sales performance insights, advertising solutions, and digital lending products.
In alignment with Grab’s commitment to innovation, SMEs can explore initiatives such as dine-in offerings and Grab’s new loyalty-as-a-service solution. This program allows merchants to build customer loyalty through a customized digital stamp card, fostering engagement both online and in-store.
As Yee affirms, "We will continue to develop new products to provide more comprehensive support for businesses and help them capture a bigger slice of the market." The Grab Merchant Centre stands as a testament to Grab's dedication to empowering SMBs for digital success.
