Aflac Life Insurance Japan is nominated in the Global Innovator category at the Qorus Innovation in Insurance Awards 2024. We asked the bank to present its strategy and actions in terms of innovation.
Why do you consider your company a Global Innovator?
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Aflac Japan’s foundation, and we are accelerating DX to leap even further forward. Moreover, to address societal issues that cannot be resolved just by insurance, we aim to build a creating "living in your own way" ecosystem for collaborating and cooperating with various stakeholders to provide comprehensive non-insurance services.
For example, to provide various digital services outside of insurance, we have established a subsidiary responsible for planning, developing, and marketing digital services. This subsidiary collaborates with university hospitals, local governments, and startups in community health improvement and disaster control measures.
In addition, amid labor shortage issues, the Company is starting to use generative AI to serve customers.
In this way, we believe that we can serve as a role model for the world, expanding business domains and leveraging DX to resolve societal issues.
