Deutsche Bank and Ant International partner to advance cross-border payment innovation
Blockchain and AI-powered solutions aim to streamline global treasury operations.
Deutsche Bank and Ant International have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at reshaping cross-border payment solutions for global merchants, particularly in Europe and Asia. The collaboration focuses on combining Deutsche Bank’s international network and banking capabilities with Ant International’s advanced fintech tools, including AI-driven foreign exchange models and blockchain-based treasury systems.
New tools for global treasury management
Central to the partnership is Deutsche Bank’s integration with Ant International’s real-time, blockchain-based treasury platform—making it the first German bank to support this system. The move enables faster, more transparent fund transfers between Ant’s entities, a development that could reduce both operational friction and currency risk in cross-border transactions.
The two firms also plan to jointly explore innovations like tokenized deposits, stablecoins, and Ant’s Falcon TST FX Model. These tools are designed to enhance liquidity, cut FX costs, and improve risk management in international commerce.
Wider merchant support across EMEA
Beyond treasury operations, the partnership will extend to Antom, Ant International’s merchant services unit. Deutsche Bank will support Antom’s acquiring solutions across EMEA, allowing businesses in the region to tap into a broader set of payment tools. The collaboration also includes support for WorldFirst, a subsidiary serving SMEs engaged in e-commerce and cross-border trade, with services ranging from FX to international account management.
Signed in Munich on June 8, the agreement builds on an existing client relationship established in 2019. Both companies see the partnership as a step toward building more inclusive, tech-enabled financial infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of global commerce.
