RHB Bank has focused on creating a digital eco-system around the lifestyle and financial needs of our customers. Based on Bank Negara Malaysia latest statistics, mobile banking penetration levels in Malaysia increased from 5.3% of the population in 2011 to 23.5% as at end 2015. To meet the lifestyle demands of our customers and the millenials and in line with the age of mobile access, we bring you the RHB Now Mobile Banking App, which offers exciting transactional capabilities and service features. Our key transactional feature is the unique first-in-the-market RHB Pay Anyone™ capability, which enables our customers to send money to their friends, family members or any individual through mobile numbers, email or even Facebook, without the need to know the recipient’s bank account number. The recipient has a choice to receive the money through an RHB account or other Malaysian bank account. Additionally, we have also reduced the overall number of steps to complete a transaction by 20% by bringing the services up front to the landing page. As for the lifestyle element, we have incorporated the Lifestyle Privileges deal feature where customers can immediately purchase and have the goods delivered right to their doorstep. The departments involved in making this project a success are Retail Banking, IT, Group Marketing & Corporate Communications. We have seen an increase in the number of downloads for the app since the launch, from an average downloads of 6718 a month in 2015 to 20,799 a month in 2016.
