About

PeoPay – modern mobile banking application, the first application in Poland, giving possibility to confirm transaction by biometrics. The mobile application allowing to pay by phone abroad immediately in the foreign currency, to pay for internet shopping instantly on the phone without logging into online banking.

Customers can scan the account number from a card, invoice or e-mail instead of rewriting. Furthermore Peo Pay allows to pay in offices i.e. tax offices.

Innovation presentation

PeoPay is a mobile banking application provided to Bank Pakao S.A. customers in October 2017. It is the first application in Poland to take advantage of biometrics in transaction confirmations, i.e. - depending on the smartphone model - fingerprint or Face ID. It allows customers to pay abroad in foreign currencies (multicurrency) and enables the online shopping to be paid for directly from the phone. It also enables payments in all contactless terminals in Poland and abroad.

In the new version of the mobile application, Bank offered a wide range of functions and facilities. While building the mobile application, Bank took advantage of a hybrid model – combination of the PeoPay application functions (using telephone native functions) and the m.pekao24.pl mobile service. The result is an application which contains all important functions of Pekao24 electronic banking and the “old” PeoPay payment application, preserving ergonomics and responsiveness to customer needs at the same time.

Thanks to the new application customers can quickly and easily make transfers, view the history of accounts and other products, analyse expenditure or check balances in percentage form before logging in. The same application can be used to pay by means of a smartphone, directly from the account, for purchases made in both traditional and online shops in Poland and abroad. Another novelty in PeoPay is the usage of biometrics for logging in and confirming transactions such as transfers, ATM withdrawals or online payments up to 200 PLN.

Uniqueness of the project

Approving transfers and withdrawals from ATMs up to 200 PLN with a fingerprint

Paying by phone abroad irectly in the currency - the user approaches the phone to the terminal (as a card), the application recognizes the currency of the transaction and collects money from the foreign currency account

Paying for internet shopping by the phone without logging into online banking - the customer chooses "I pay with Pekao Bank" on the website of the store open on the phone, then "Pay with PeoPay", the application opens automatically and asks you to approve payments

Scanning the invoice number from a card, invoice or e-mail instead of rewriting - the transfer form with the completed invoice number is automatically opened
