BB has been leading Open Finance in Brazil, even before the beginning of the regulatory implementation started in 2021: Banco do Brasil was the first bank in Latin America to carry out a structured Open Banking operation, with the launch in June 2017 of the Developer Portal and were the first institution to establish a business Open Banking partnership (Conta Azul) in Brazil. In its current format, BB was the first institution to carry out the full consent journey (August/21) and the first large bank enabled to operate as a payment initiator, for example. WhatsApp is the most popular mobile messaging application in Brazil, present in 99% of national smartphones. 95% of WhatsApp users access the app daily or almost every day (Source: Messsaging in Brazil - Panorama Mobile TIme/Opinion Box) For Banco do Brasil, offering consent of Open Banking in a new digital channel contributes to the improvement of customer satisfaction and the expansion of customers who subscribe to Open Finance. It is also oportunities to offer consent as a conversational context in others contracting journey or consulting financial products, such as credit card or personal loan, for example. Customers now have the convenience of a channel that they use more and more in their daily lives.
