The most critical moment for auto insurance customers is when they got involved in an auto accident. Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire (TMNF) wanted to be always “there” when insurance service is most needed. Also, TMNF wanted to reduce accidents using cutting-edge technologies of IoT and Artificial Intelligence. So TMNF developed an all in one, connected IoT device for auto insurance customers. It has two cameras, GPS, G-sensor and 4G wireless connection. While driving, it records driving scene, which will become objective evidence when an accident occurred. It has safety features; it warns drivers when they are approaching frequent accident points identified by AI from vast driving records, time and weather., give alert when the get too close to the preceding car or divert from driving lane, provide general information about weather. After driving, it gives a feedback how safely the customer drove, and TMNF send a detailed driving analysis report monthly, based on the driving record gathered from the device. In case of accident, when the device detected a strong gravity, it urges the customer to access TMNF with a push of button. Customer information, location, and recorded video are transferred automatically. When the customer is unable to push the button because of the heavy injury or unconsciousness, the call center representative will make a voice call and call ambulance if necessary. （Please see the ”Japan quality” promotion video）
