RPA enables companies to automate high-volume, low-value tasks quickly and cost-efficiently. At ER-GO we took it one step further by making the introduction of RPA a driver of digital change for the entire group. Can you imagine? ERGO teams, working with RPA bots, give these computer programs nicknames. They are called Anna or Robi. Some teams baked a cake when their new digital assistant began to work. The bots are helping people speed up handling their workload. They perform the tasks people never liked to do. Traditionally, employees of insurance companies are not particularly open to innova-tion and automation. However, here with RPA we managed to turn the tide. A dedicated internal team of success managers and RPA DevOps specialists enables process owners and business experts to leverage digital technology starting with RPA bots. Small teams consisting of one process owner, one success manager and two business and RPA experts each create impactful solutions within just a few weeks using agile principles and methodology. Ownership of the process remains with the business unit and responsibility of bot operations is shared between the business unit and the ERGO robotics team. This model has been so successful at our German home market that we have since scaled it up to ERGO Group companies in nine countries in Europe, India and Asia.
