TABI – banking application for children Qorus-Infosys Finacle Banking Innovation Awards 2024

The application is divided in 2 logical units: Banking Section and Educational Section. A character with the same name TABI accompanies our smallest clients throughout the application.   TABI is a digital creature that acts in the application as the best banking friend for children, coming to teach them how the world of money works. 

We have decided to make the Educational Section accessible to everyone, regardless of banking affiliation, and thus the children of our non-clients can also be educated through the application. The Banking Section of the application works with real client data and can therefore only be activated by a parent who has a child account with Tatra banka. In the Banking Section, a child will find sections Wallet, Cards, Saving and Spending.  

In the Wallet Section, a child will find an up-to-date overview of the financial balance, account movements and can even request pocket money from a parent. All expenses are put into categories in the Spending Report. The child can block the card, view the PIN code, and also pay online if the parent allows this functionality. The child can create as many as 15 saving sub-accounts and save for dream goals.

The Educational Section currently includes 30 theme units divided into 6 chapters. In each chapter, TABI explains financial terms through simple stories. The child can then test his/her knowledge in fun games and quizzes. For success in individual games the child receives virtual currency, so called coins he/she can use to buy upgrades for his/her TABI. In addition to coins, the child also receives awards in the form of badges for his/her activity in the Educational Section.

All activities and actions the child performs in the application are under control of the legal representative through their access via parental zone in the Tatra banka application. This way, banking is not only fun but also safe for the child.
