Innovation presentation
XLAB was created with three core objectives:
1. Fostering Internal Collaboration and Innovation – Complementing ongoing initiatives by facilitating interdisciplinary teamwork and cross-functional problem-solving. Fidelidade is a company with a long-standing tenure (+16 years), and the reskilling and upskilling of employees is critical.
2. Embedding an Innovation Mindset – Equipping employees with structured methodologies that drive long-term impact and nurture entrepreneurial thinking.
3. Validating New Value Propositions – Designing, testing, and refining solutions that address concrete business challenges with high implementation potential.
To achieve these goals, XLAB follows a five-phase structure:
1. Challenge Identification – Each edition begins with a strategic selection of 6-7 organizational challenges from key business ecosystems (e.g., Health, Mobility, Home, Longevity). These challenges form the foundation of the program, with each team assigned a specific issue, sponsored by a senior leader responsible for implementation.
2. Engagement & Recruitment – A multi-channel communication campaign (internal newsletters, dedicated landing pages, leadership meetings) ensures broad employee participation. Applicants rank their preferred challenges and undergo a selection process focused on innovation potential.
3. Team Formation & Selection – 42 employees are selected based on their problem-solving mindset and arranged into diverse teams, considering gender, seniority, expertise, and challenge preferences.
4. Innovation Bootcamps – Participants undergo five intensive bootcamps covering critical innovation stages: Problem Definition, Solution Ideation, Validation, Business Planning, and Pitching. These sessions, led by Fidelidade’s Innovation team and industry experts, are complemented by five interactive webinars featuring startup founders and innovation leaders.
5. Final Pitch & Implementation – The program culminates in a high-profile event where teams pitch their solutions to a jury composed of directors and executive committee members. Projects are evaluated on Business Relevance, Disruptive Potential, Implementation Feasibility, ROI, and Pitch Quality. While one team is awarded top recognition, all projects receive post-program support for real-world execution.
