At AXA, we're transforming our organisation through the power of data, and our people are at the heart of this revolution. We launched our UK-wide Data & AI Academy in 2024, appreciating common goals, platforms, tooling whilst recognising varying degrees of maturity and data adoption. We engaged over 30% of our workforce within just six months. Our ethos is to encourage the business to want to upskill by building their understanding of the value that data can drive rather than making training mandatory.

Our unique blend of external and internally created content has not only upskilled our employees but also provided development opportunities for our Subject Matter Experts.

Recognising the pivotal role of leadership, we've partnered with a renowned business school to educate our CEO, Management Committee, and Executive Committee leaders. As a result of these and other leadership-specific initiatives, 62% of our leaders are now better equipped to navigate the data journey.

To foster a culture of continuous learning and productive data adoption, we've established learning portals, communities of practice, and monthly lunch & learn programmes. Our data communities now boast over 2,000 members, we've hosted more than 1,000 Power BI learning hours and we host monthly data drop-in clinics across a range of focus areas.

Our commitment to innovation is evident in our adoption of GenAI solutions, with one-third of our workforce actively and confidently using these tools thanks to the training and support we provide. We're also launching an exciting new apprenticeship programme to further enhance our GenAI capabilities and build on our current community of 26 apprenticeships.

To meet our future capability landscape, we’ve launched a technical learning platform for the entire organisation which forms part of the wider curriculum of learning. In order to provide clarity around career opportunities and progression, this has been launched alongside our customised skills matrices and with carefully curated learning pathways for guided upskilling.

Our annual Data & AI Discovery Week, featuring our Ignite conference and promptathon, attracted 2,000 staff last year, totalling 3,000 learning hours. We're also proud to partner with Women in Data to promote gender balance and continue to focus on neurodiversity in our workforce.

Beyond our organisation, we're donating our data talent to partner charities through our AXA Data Hearts in Action initiative, demonstrating our belief that data can drive positive change.

In essence, at AXA, we're not just using data to drive business value and improve customer outcomes - we're empowering our people to do so.
