At wamo, our mission is to remove complexity from business banking for entrepreneurs and small business owners. One of the biggest challenges for SMEs across Europe is access to fast, flexible financing, especially for those without traditional credit histories or collateral. Our embedded business loan solution, built in partnership with Froda, directly addresses this gap.
Concept & Objectives We launched an integrated business loan experience within the wamo app, starting with Finland-based merchants. This allows eligible businesses to apply for a loan in under 15 minutes, with approvals and funds delivered within 24 hours. The objective was to eliminate friction in accessing capital, giving business owners the tools to grow without lengthy paperwork, branch visits, or credit bureaucracy.
Reasons Behind the Initiative Traditional financing models often leave out small businesses that operate digitally or cross-border. We wanted to democratise business lending by offering an easy, fast and data-driven financing option right where business owners already manage their money, inside their wamo account.
State of Competition While fintech lenders exist, few offer loans natively embedded into multi-currency business accounts with real-time transaction data. With Froda’s powerful credit infrastructure and our business account environment, we’ve created a seamless in-app lending experience that feels as easy as sending a payment.
Sources of Inspiration We were inspired by the idea that finance should adapt to the speed of modern business. Just like instant payments, accessing funding should be intuitive, fast, and built into your everyday tools — not a separate ordeal.

Data & Risk: ensured eligibility checks aligned with our user data
Compliance & Legal: collaborated to ensure regulatory clarity across markets
Marketing & Customer Support: led user onboarding and education around the feature
