Innovation presentation
In a company as large as Allianz there is always something to be optimised – sometimes even revolutionized. Targeting the classical handling of International Motor Claims (ruled under Green Card and 4th EU Directive) Allianz has modernized the complete process by introducing an end to end cloud solution with standard processes for every party including billing/payment using Smart contracts and Distributed Ledger Technology (Blockchain). Starting as a prototype built together with @FORTISS (owned by the State of Bavaria lab for applied sciences and the @Technical University of Munich), the use case was validated and a decision to build an Enterprise grade solution was taken and executed together with an experienced local start-up, @Luther Systems. The joint efforts of @Allianz_Technology and the start-up across multiple geographies, time zones and business cultures under the orchestration of Allianz SE Group Centres H4-Group Organizational Management and H7-Global P/C led to the implementation of this first in the industry blockchain based retail claims handling solution to go live in 23 markets across Europe. The microservice architecture allows it to serve various other business processes and also to be used in an open source manner enabling even use cases outside Allianz. We can count this as a great delivery fully aligned with the strategy of Allianz to simplify and outperform.
