Following its innovation strategy by leveraging new on-demand digital capabilities, Fidelidade aspired to create a highly contextual app that combines user engagement features with on-demand travel insurance. Launched in mid-August 2019, Just in Case is a travel app that helps people preparing and insure their trips, providing assistance from the moment they decide to travel until the end of the trip, in a seamless and engaging way. With this, Fidelidade can have a contextual presence when people are emotionally connected and therefore more receptive to acquire the most needed insurance coverages. Currently the app includes a set of freemium travel planning tools, like the travel checklist that helps organizing tasks, relevant content through smart tips and a free travel advisory service. The on-demand insurance was designed and developed to provide a full digital and single channel experience, allowing customers to insure their trips, include family members and personalize protection according to their needs, anywhere, anytime. Together these features are expected to increase revenue and engagement within new and existing customers. Among the project core team, Fidelidade mobilized members from various internal areas, including Business Units, Fidelidade Assistance, Operations, Marketing, IT and Transformation. In 2019, the project received an honorable mention as one of the Best Digital Product & Customer Experience in Portugal Digital Awards. Since the beginning of the pilot, with a low marketing effort, Just in Case was able to generate more than 10K downloads and capture around 2.300 users.
