Innovation presentation

"The fleet business is increasing in both small and large business.

Insurers observe that the risk of fleet policies is higher than retail, due to the different usage by drivers who aren't the owners of vehicles. The consequence of this different usage is not only the increasing of risk and therefore the reduction of safety and its related costs, but also the increasing of costs for the fleet managers (due to a major fuel consumption and more maintenance) and emissions, directly linked to costs.

Telematics can be very effective in enhancing prevention towards the drivers by increasing their awareness and by providing added value services, increasing safety, reducing risks, costs and emissions thanks to numerous features including, above all, the monitoring of driving style which is one of jeniot's distinctive skills, carried out using proprietary algorithms: it has been proven by our study with Politecnico of Milan that the better the driving style, the lower the riskiness, costs and emissions.

Knowledge of the benefits of telematics is not yet widespread among fleet managers of small fleets and the purchase costs in some cases are discouraging if not properly explained in terms of cost optimization.

About benefits awareness, Generali France's insurance sales network can be very effective in getting in touch with fleet managers, who already rely on Generali for distinctive insurance coverage dedicated to fleets.

Regarding the costs, jeniot has developed a range of offers which use different possible technologies depending on the customer needs: a physical one with black box and a digital one which uses SaaD (Smartphone as a Device), able to provide the main telematic services with added value, easier to activate and therefore with more diffusion possibilities.

Generali France and jeniot have combined their respective propositions to launch two PoCs in the fleet business, one with physical technology and one with digital technologies, preliminary to the large-scale launch of this new and innovative telematics proposition.

Thanks to a single modular and scalable solution we want to have a positive impact on the fleet business, with dedicated insurance coverage and with the drivers safety increase, the reduction of risks and costs, but also on the environment, with the significant reduction of emissions."
