Before the creation of Kopra, Bank Mandiri's wholesale solutions were offered in a siloed manner, which meant that these solutions were separate and standalone, lacking comprehensiveness and end-to-end integration. Bank Mandiri, back then, had several digital services, such as Mandiri Cash Management, Mandiri Global Trade, Mandiri Smart Account, etc. However, this did not stop Bank Mandiri from continuing to innovate and strengthen its leadership in the wholesale segment by integrating these existing digital services into a single access platform – the Wholesale Digital Super Platform Kopra by Mandiri. Initially, customers had to log in to each portal separately, but after the launch of Kopra, they only need to log in to Kopra and use different transaction authorization keys for each portal.

Leveraging Bank Mandiri's vast customer ecosystem, Kopra provides significant potential for cross-selling, thereby increasing customer product holding. A higher product holding correlates with larger Giro (demand deposit) balances at Bank Mandiri, which contributing to the bank's growth and stability.

Furthermore, to leverage relationships with more than 30,000 wholesale customers, Kopra by Mandiri employs the following four approaches as a comprehensive wholesale super-platform:

1. Wholesale Digital Treasurer Designed to manage the intricate finances of large corporations, Kopra enables Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) to handle all financial management tasks, from overseeing operational needs (such as transfers, bill payments, direct debit, etc.), managing company liquidity, to handling consolidated finances of holding companies, both domestic and cross-country with features like management of accounts payable/accounts receivable, direct foreign exchange transactions at competitive rates, and a comprehensive visualization on the customer’s dashboard to streamline the decision making process.

Additionally, Kopra also offers Kopra Embedded Finance that can be integrated with the customer's internal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, enabling seamless, fast, and scalable payment and collection process. This integration, combined with the easy-to-operate Kopra Embedded Finance, is able to bolster the number of transactions, which drives Kopra to become the market leader for wholesale digital transactions. With a transaction value of IDR 19,100 trillion ($1.24 trillion) by 2023, equivalent to the combined transaction value of three Tier-1 banks' wholesale digital channels in Indonesia.

2. Digital Working Capital One of Kopra’s features, Kopra Trade, has successfully propelled the growth of export-import transactions. With trade transaction value reaching IDR 528 trillion ($34.3 billion) and bank guarantee (BG) transaction value reaching IDR 104 trillion ($6.7 billion), Kopra Trade puts Bank Mandiri as the market leader for trade transactions at 24.4% and BG at 32.6%. Additionally, by disbursing working capital loans of IDR 75.9 trillion ($4.9 billion) or grew by 18% YoY to wholesale customers in 2023, Bank Mandiri continues to play a pivotal role in helping customers expand their business.

3. Ecosystem Partner Kopra offers tailor-made solutions for wholesale customers in various industries, such as transportation, port, education, health, energy, and other sectors. For instance, in the port sector, Kopra has accommodated all transactions from customs tax payments to payment reconciliation. In addition, Kopra provides a particular solution for the port ecosystem called Port Community Card (PCC). PCC allows customers to easily conduct cashless transactions in the port area, with all transaction history saved and can be viewed easily through Kopra. Moreover, to continue expanding and strengthening its value chain ecosystem, Bank Mandiri offers end-to-end solutions to connect principals to retailers through integrating Kopra and Livin’ Merchant.

4. Business Intelligence Advisor Kopra’s integration with AI technology will continue to improve customers’ experience. For example, the Cash Forecasting feature on the cash flow monitoring dashboard helps forecast customers' future cash flow based on historical data. This solution provides useful insights to facilitate financial decision-making such as capital loan applications and anticipation of foreign exchange needs. In the future, Kopra will be equipped with an "AI Payment Risk Manager" to detect anomalies in transactions and assist in risk management.
