ReFi Türkiye Qorus-Infosys Finacle Banking Innovation Awards 2024

In recent years, there has been a growing focus on impact investing, which aims to generate positive social and environmental impact alongside financial returns. This approach recognizes that traditional financial metrics alone are not enough to measure success and that businesses have a responsibility to consider their impact on society and the environment.

Innovation is crucial in driving these changes in the finance industry. New technologies have the potential to increase transparency and make information more accessible to consumers. For example, blockchain technology has been utilized in some cases to track supply chains and ensure ethical practices are being followed by companies. These innovations can also help with financial education and empowerment by providing resources and tools to manage greater, global risks.

ReFi Türkiye is a regenerative finance initiative by Akbank that aims to flourish this discipline in Türkiye with podcasts, meet ups, contents, hackathons and new projects. Regenerative Finance is the first step we take to reimage, regenerate and recreate the world we live in, for our future.

To support this new discipline and raise awareness in Turkish ecosystem, we’ve started a program and established a platform called ReFi Türkiye which is enriched by a hackathon on blockchain, different community meet ups, biweekly newsletters, podcast series.

With this program, we aim to increase the Web3 literacy and take a proactive role against the natural struggle.

We would like to pave the way for the next stage of sustainability, where impact meets the security and the transparency of blockchain technologies.
