Can you introduce yourself and tell us more about your role at your company?
Hello! My name is Daniel André, and I am currently Head of Sofia at the Center for Transformation at Fidelidade. In my role, I am responsible for driving innovation within the business, guiding the effective implementation of technology, and ensuring the development of high-quality products and services. I lead a multidisciplinary team, working closely together to deliver innovative solutions that optimize business processes and add significant value to both our organization and our clients.

What made you most proud of the winning project?
What I am most proud of regarding the winning project is its ability to integrate a wide range of technologies with a focus on delivering services by people and for people. This approach directly addresses a critical issue, namely the aging population. My greatest achievement was, without a doubt, changing the status quo surrounding the workforce of caregivers and service providers, as well as delivering higher quality services at a lower cost through the efficiency gains enabled by technology. This project demonstrates that when we collaborate with focus, we can transform innovative ideas into impactful, real-world solutions.
What’s the most important thing you would tell someone considering embarking on a similar project?
The most important thing I would tell them is: “Prepare to face unexpected challenges, but don't give up.” Every innovative project brings obstacles, but the key to success is staying focused on the solution, being resilient, and working as a team. Additionally, having a clear vision of the objectives and aligning everyone involved is crucial for achieving concrete results.

What's coming next for Sofia?
We are very excited about the next steps for the project! Our current focus is to expand the volume of families and seniors we care for and support. As a second step, we aim to increase our geographical coverage, and in the third phase, we plan to broaden our portfolio of services. These developments will provide even more benefits both for the company and for our clients. Innovation doesn't stop here, and the next chapter promises great advancements.
What would you say to companies that might consider entering the 2026 Insurance Innovation Awards?
I would definitely encourage them to participate. Entering this kind of competition offers an excellent opportunity to share experiences, be recognized for innovation, and increase the company’s visibility. It’s also a great way to hear success stories from other players, create synergies, and access Qorus’ information library. This competition provides a unique platform to measure the impact of innovative solutions in the market while learning from other participants. The most important thing is to have a passion for innovation and a desire to make a difference in the world.

This award is a huge achievement for the entire team. It represents not only recognition of our hard work but also validation that we are on the right path in driving innovation in the industry. For us, it is extra motivation to continue challenging boundaries and creating solutions that positively impact our clients and the industry as a whole.
