CNP Assurances has introduced a groundbreaking initiative to simplify insurance access for breast cancer survivors. These individuals can now secure loan insurance without premiums or exclusions, bypassing the customary 5-year waiting period mandated by the right to be forgotten law. This offering, spearheaded by CNP Assurances, its shareholder La Banque Postale, the BPCE Group, and other partners, aims to provide immediate financial security to those affected.
Under the Lemoine law since March 2, 2022, individuals who have surpassed 5 years without relapse post-cancer treatment are eligible for the right to be forgotten. Thanks to prior work under the AERAS agreement, certain breast cancer survivors already benefit from insurance without surcharges or coverage limitations in shorter timeframes. CNP Assurances, in alignment with its mission to protect a broad spectrum of individuals, seeks to surpass regulatory requirements.
Effective immediately, CNP Assurances and its partners, including La Banque Postale and the BPCE Group, are extending the opportunity for breast cancer survivors to access collective real estate and/or professional loan insurance without premiums or exclusions upon completion of their active therapeutic protocols. Those undergoing subsequent maintenance or recurrence prevention treatment are also eligible.
CNP Assurances' commitment to inclusivity extends beyond this initiative:
• Prices have been maintained without increases following the removal of health questionnaires mandated by the Lemoine Law.
• Level 2 AERAS surcharges, which typically doubled contributions for high-risk individuals, have been eliminated.
Marie-Aude Thépaut, CEO of CNP Assurances, expresses pride in this initiative's role in empowering breast cancer survivors to pursue their life goals. She reaffirms CNP Assurances' dedication to evolving risk management practices to ensure as many individuals as possible can achieve financial security, pushing the boundaries of insurability.
