Innovation presentation
The journey to a healthy heart started about 3 years ago. At that time, the focus was on the further development of the cardiology product portfolio. We did something crazy from the perspective of that time - we included other people an other perspectives.
Piece by piece, we put together information and needs from our customers and our partners. Together with trends and market developments, these were blended and combined into a target image known as "Healthy Heart".
We will not be able to solve the future challenges in healthcare with pure supply contracts. What is needed is an ecosystem and an interplay of different products and services that allow for a long-term and sustainable health journey.
Therefore, the project team has implemented the first projects in the sense of heart health together with innovative startups and committed physicians in Saxony and Thuringia. With joint forces, the digital aftercare program (atrial fibrillation) was successfully rolled out in Dresden in August 2022. Only two months later, the next highlight was achieved: the digital atrial fibrillation screening was implemented in Thuringia. Already, the pilot seems to be writing its own success story, yet we are only at the beginning of this journey.
Uniqueness of the project
The interplay between digital and haptic medicine is unique. It has succeeded in bringing together different partners and needs at eye level.
A major success is the focus of this project - which is not, as is typical for a health insurance company, on care, but encompasses an interplay of prevention, early detection, lifestyle modification and digitization. In addition, it was possible to implement not just one application from one provider, but to combine several useful cases. In the pilot status, however, this journey is outlined using the example of atrial fibrillation and heart health.
