About
Alior Bank has equipped its employees safe smartphones with preinstalled set of applications to move employees to digital world and to enable digital transformation of the bank.
Innovation presentation
One of the most crucial points in Alior Bank’s strategy applies to its employees, because the key drivers of Alior Bank’s “Digital Disruptor” strategy implementation includes the right organisational culture and high employee engagement; the bank has set a 60% employee engagement rate, by 2020. For their employees, the bank wants to create a truly digital and flexible working space that allows them to communicate, collaborate and complete tasks effectively. Employees have become accustomed to using powerful technology in their personal lives, and they expect to do the same in their professional lives. The goal is to transform the bank’s office environment into a truly digital workplace. To make it happen we are providing our employees with tools that will let them to collaborate and communicate effectively both inside and outside of the office environment.
In 2018, as one of the first banks in Poland, Alior cooperated with Innergo Systems to fully equip employees with iPhones. Alior Bank delivered to these employees safe smartphones with a preinstalled set of applications, which are ready to use in just 3 minutes, without any technical expertise. More specifically, MDM (mobile device management) software allows the bank to manage employees centrally. Also, the bank is using the COPE concept, which separates employee’s company profile form their private one which allows them to use their smartphones for all purposes in a safe and transparent way. Access to apps such as cloud collaboration, video chats and messenger utilities support an agile way of working. New devices were also deployed with an emphasis on ensuring corporate security and increasing employee productivity.
Uniqueness of the project
Alior Bank is the first bank in Poland that has issued so many devices, supported by tailored IT solutions, to its employees.
Smartphonisation was the answer to the need for a mobile way of working – anytime, anywhere, anyone and any device and is especially appreciated by the Millennial generation, which makes up a major part of Alior’s workforce.
From the employee’s point of view, swapping ordinary telephones with top-class equipment that they could proudly show to the customers and use remotely from anywhere was a real breakthrough and proof of a changing work environment.
The shift from a customer-centric to employee-centric experience has redefined business strategies and Alior has already taken the first steps towards implementing this strategy.
Employees also received the opportunity to take advantage of a dedicated employee offer for Apple equipment. Apple products are available to Alior employees at special discounted prices.
Alior was the first bank in Poland with such a project. To market this, we decided to start a social media campaign via LinkedIn, promoting a digital solution in the work environment which differentiated our bank and thereby encouraged the best candidates from the labor market to apply for a job.
